Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel. I said goodbye to the students. this morning.
We do pray and hope your involvement with the Wheaton Academy students was a positive one.
Thank you again for all your support and involvement in this missions trip, I look forward to partnering with you again soon.
You can view a selection of the pictures taken during the mission trip below;
Tuesday Jan 11th–St. Andrews and The Coast
We visited St. Andrews College and toured the fishing villages along the coast of Scotland…we got to see a former WA student at St. Andrews and ate the best “chippy” in all of Scotland! A fun day of seeing more of the smaller towns and beautiful landscape of Scotland!
The Winterim team led both services at St Johns Church in Linlithgow, followed by a short drive back to Elim Church for a Sunday evening Youth event. We are encouraged that all students involved were encouraged and challenged by their experience of doing church in Scotland.
The Winterim team and St Johns youth group enjoyed lunch together.
Sat 7th–Zach’s Birthday!!! and Edinburgh
We enjoyed a sightseeing day in snowy Edinburgh….sipped coffee at the Elephant House, toured the Parliament Building, shopped, went ice skating, and ate out for Chinese food for Zach’s birthday…so fun!
Fri 6th–Faith Mission College
We had an opportunity to serve at Faith Mission College to help them prepare for their new semester…we did everything from picking up trash, to making beds, to ironing, to painting! The vice principal, Adrian, and his wife, Heather, studied at Moody a few years agao so they were excited to see some people from Chicago!
Thurs 5th -Our Day with Ian Leitch
The team met with Ian Leitch for a morning of evanglism training. After a great morning , we went to Toni Macaroni’s for lunch and then shopping the the Center, the mall in Livingston. We ended with dinner and bowling at the Deer Park Country Club.
Wed 5th -Evening:
Great Night at the Bells, fun, friends and fellowship.
The ministry opportunities for our team here are many….they have opportunities to be an encouragement in their host homes, they will get to share their 30-minute chapel presentation on two occasions, and will have many opportunities to interact with the youth of Scotland. Please continue to be in prayer for the hearts that these students will be sharing their lives with over the next ten days….our prayer is for God to receive honour and glory through all that happens.
We have arrived safely in Scotland!! Rob, Jodie, and Jack Bell greeted us at the airport upon our arrival and we are so thankful that all the logistics (even navigating our way through Heathrow Airport!!) did not cause us much delay in our arrival time. After a brief orientation with Rob Bell and the youth leaders of the churches with whom we will work (Lorna and Jimmy), the students went off to their host homes to meet their families, settle in and get some dinner. In hopes of ensuring a quick adjustment to the time change, we are keeping our eyes pried open till 9:00 PM…to help us stay awake, we are all joining up for a game night at the Bells after dinner!
