Registration and site usage terms

You need to register to post comments to this site.

The only purpose of registering as a user of this website is to enable comments or perform other permitted tasks.

By registering with the site and by submitting information via the contact page, in user comments or articles you hereby agree to these terms.

There is no intent by The Heralds Trust (THT) to send email to users registered to the site apart from the login details and deal with any matters arising. However, if there is a reason to establish a personal connection via email, the facility is there and THT reserves the right to do so.

Email addresses will not be given, sold or shared in any way with other groups, organisations or businesses unless required by law.

The software does not provide an automatic way to cancel site registrations but legitimate requests made to delete a user via the contact page would be honoured.

Comments are moderated and we reserve the right to publish them in part, whole or not at all, entirely at our own discretion, without obligation or explanation.

Do not send SPAM or any other material that would be inappropriate for this site. It just wastes time and will be deleted.

EU Cookie directive statement: This website doesn’t use cookies apart from the essential aspects of logging in. Most users of this website have no requirement to log in so normal users receive no cookies.

Third party cookies: Clicking on external links to third party websites or for making purchases or donations via PayPal may involve cookies to facilitate the operation but these should be issued by PayPal or the third party, not this website.

Please do not violate copyright either of this site or any other site or medium. Where any violation of copyright is apparent the content will be removed.

By submitting any material to the site you are giving unreserved royalty free permission for the material to be published on this site or other THT media without recompense unless there has been prior written agreement.

The comments and opinions submitted and published by registered subscribers are their own and THT does not necessarily endorse or support them.

Site user registrations may be cancelled at the discretion of THT or the website administrators without obligation or explanation.

For the purpose of security and “good housekeeping” registered users not making relevant contributions within a reasonable amount of time will be cancelled. This would include, but not be limited to guest contributions to the site where further contributions are not anticipated in the short term.

The eNewsletter subscription feature is separate from the site user registration process and operates a double opt-in system. eNewsletter subscriptions may be cancelled at any time using the same feature as at initial subscription.

We do not endorse or guarantee the content, opinions, views, or suitability of organisations, products, services of any other sites linked to this one.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time.

We are subject to Scottish and UK laws so any issues arising would be applied to the jurisdiction of the relevant legal process.
